Excavator 750

4-axle clockwork Excavator. Chassis red, cabin and roof in green / grey-green, boom and clam red. The excavator is "propelled" by the well-known clockwork as used in the locos. Clockwork key on the right side - foldable as seen on the o17 engine shed - not removable. The functions are controlled by the knob on top of the roof - as known from the locos - including "quick release" on 0 position. There is another lever at the rear of the cabin - this one will open and close the clam. The boom is sectioned and foldable - resulting in a larger boom than known from the other excavators. The boom is kept in position by two small chains fixed to the cabin roof - no further function. For me this is the ultimate BILLER TOY - that is why I have "some" of them :-) Presented in March 1954 at the Nuremberg Toy Fair. Available until at least 1962.

first version without Biller inscription on the key - the control knob as known from the locos - yellow lines

and the "last" version key - mainly white lining. But also known with yellow lines.

1. version clockwork with small 32 mm chain drums. The drums are retained on the axle by a rubber disc.

2. version clockwork with large 40 mm chain drums. Drums retained on the axle by "squeezed noses".

ready for "street-transport"

un-punched tin - allowing 10 excavators to "run off" the "assembly line"

2 picture of the original box: nicely coloured lid picture, the bottom side shows the order No. and the price - here is was 18,50 Deutsche Mark. Box measures 22 x 23,3 cm

Underneath the box: order No. and price - and another (storage-???) No. on one of the sides.

And once more the price underneath the cabin.

the rod exiting the rear of the cabin - to open and close the bucket / clam

If it looks like this the complete mechanism has to be / better should be dismantled. This excavator again works perfect.
